An RA is located in each building. RAs are student staff members who report directly to the Housing Manager and assist residents with any specific needs they might have. They also help in planning programs and creating an environment conducive to academic, personal, and social growth. As paraprofessional staff, RAs are also responsible for the enforcement of housing policies and the documentation of policy violations or incidents. If the RA cannot personally solve a resident’s problem, he/she can act as a resource and direct the resident to someone who can help. The primary contact for residents should be their RA. Therefore, residents should not hesitate to take their problems or ideas to their RA. If the RA is not able to meet the need of a resident, the resident can feel free to contact the Housing Manager. Those residents interested in becoming an RA should talk with their RA as well as with the Housing Manager.
